아메리칸 아이돌 (American Idol 7, Hollywood Week)

과연 얼마나 지속될 지는 모르겠으나 American Idol 시즌 7을 내 멋대로 정리해볼까 한다.
정말 재미있게 본 Hollywood Week부터 시작!

Brooke White, Beautiful

Simon: I think you got great great potential.
Paula: Brooke, the risk is worth it.
(이번 시즌부터 헐리우드 위크에서 악기를 사용해도 된다고 했는데, 아무래도 risk가 따르니까...)
개인적으로 Brooke White는 목소리에 금속성이 좀 심해서 안 좋아하는 데, 본인의 목소리와 이미지에 맞게 선곡을 하는 영민함을 보였다.

David Hernandez, Love the One You're With

Simon: I Thought It Was Great, David. Best we've heard today, and what was interesting is you're very, very, very comfortable up there. This stage, it makes you breaks you. If you're comfortable up there, then it's a really, really good sign.
David Hernandez의 최고의 공연이 아닐까. 부르는 그도 즐겁고 듣는 나도 즐거운 노래.

Josaih Leming, Grace Kelly

Paula: Josaih, you have a magical thing about you that you make people smile, you make the girls fall in love with you, you make the guys think you're cool.
Simon: I think of all the auditions.  This is the one I'm gonna remember.
Josaih는 American Idol에서 최고로 찔찔 짜는 캐릭터. ㅋㅋ 그는 이 노래에 대해서 최고의 찬사를 받았으나 나로서는 박자 감각을 상실한 공연이었고, 이 소년의 공연은 헐리우드 위크의 마지막 공연인 Stand by me에서 빛을 발했다 in a bad way. -_-;

Danny, Ramiele, Carly, Michael Hitting Home Runs
(When I need you, Until you come back to me)

Paula: Carly, you're a force to be reckoned with. All of you should be very scared of her in a good way.
Simon: You should all hate her because she's very good.
개인적으로 헐리우드 위크에서 가장 좋아하는 부분. 대니와 라미엘은 날 웃음짓게 했다.

Danny Noriega, When I Need You(combined version)

Randy: One of the best.
Danny: Cool~!
대니가 부르는 when I need you 덕분에 이후 top 24에서 이제나 저제나 포텐셜 터질 날만 기다렸다. 대니가 있어서 아메리칸 아이돌을 봤었는데...쩝

David Cook, Everything I do

Simon: I think the minute you lose that guitar. You're gonna look very velnerable up there.
David: I think he's just not a fan of my hair is what I think it is.
이 사람이, 그 사람입니다.

Kyle Ensley, Love Grows (구린 화질 죄송 -_-)

Simon: I surrender
Randy: What show is this, man?
Paula: It was a little corny. I've got to be honest. But, there's always that spirit like yours.
촌스럽긴 하지만 난 오히려 이 공연을 보고 Kyle과 이 노래를 좋아하게 되었는데, Simon은 지겹다며 사라져버렸다. ㅋㅋ

Paula: You're a gem and for the whole to see. I can't wait.
Simon: You have so many things going for you. You're young. You're good-looking. You're likeable, and you've got a great voice.
이 아이는 정말 인기가 많습니다. 하지만 전 오히려 싸이먼이 kyle에게 퍼부은 had it had it을 그에게 쓰고 싶네요. 어쨌든 이 공연은 좋습디다.

Syesha Mercado, Chain of Fools

Randy: That's amazing.  I think that you're one to watch in this. I think that you could sneak up and give everybody a run. You have some skills. Great. Great.
Paula: I'm gonna tell you something, my dear.  You gave the performance of your lifetime right here on that stage, right now. And you can be really proud, and now you can rest your voice. You did an amazing job.
목에서 나온 노래가 아니라 마음에서 나온 노래.
폴라는 그녀가 일생의 공연을 했다고 했지만, 그 이후에도 그녀는 사람의 마음을 사로잡는 공연을 했다.

Michael Johns, Bohemian Rhapsody

Simon: Michael. best audition of the day.
노래 자체보다, '보우히미언'이라는 발음이 더 인상깊었다. -_-;
Michael은 Queen의 노래를 부를 때가 가장 빛났다.

Carly Smithson, Alone

Simon: I could actually see the confidence. This time before you even sang, which was terrific to see.

Paula: I can't wait to see more of you, and hear more of you, and all of the above.

그녀에게는 perfect song choice. 더 큰 무대에서 alone을 부르지 못한 것이 아쉽다.
더욱 안타까운 점은 그녀는 너무 절박해 보여서 나로선 도저히 공연을 즐길 수 없었다는 점이다. 음악을 마치 승부하듯이 했다.

Asia'h Epperson, How do I live

날 펑펑 울린 지역예선. 

Asia'h Epperson, I'm Goin' Down

Simon: Asia'h, your best audition by a mile. I loved that.
에이샤는 노래를 참 맛깔스럽게 하는데 top 24에서의 선곡은 자신의 장점을 살리지 못했었다. 개인적으로 I'm going down~ 이럴 때의 그녀의 손동작이 인상깊었다.

 

Danny 헐리우드 위크 움짤

헐리우드 위크에서 가장 감동적이었던 장면은 Josiah의 Stand By Me 이후에 심사위원들이 평가하는 부분이었다. 조사이어는 밴드까지 물리치고 stand by me를 부르는 데 그 노래가 너무 괴로워서 동영상을 올리지는 않겠지만 심사위원들의 평가는 조사이어도 울리고, 나도 울렸다.

Josiah Leming, Stand By Me

Simon: Josiah, now you're being a teensy-weensy bit annoying because everyone has a lot of guts to get up there. And if you're going to dismiss the band, be really certain that you are gonna deliver an unbelievable vocal because it just exposed you. And funny enough to me, you lost a little bit of your charm on that performance. I would put it down to overconfidence at this point. Way overconfidence.

Randy: Dude, based on what i've seen over the last couple days, and when we first saw you i've been a huge fan since day one. I'm still a fan even though this performance wasn't great. I'm gonna say yes. You're worth one more shot.

Paula: Josiah, thank you for being honest and vulnerable. I say yes. Absolutely 100%.

Simon: I still think you're a great guy. You got three yeses.

여기 저기 키스하고 돌아다니는 Ghaleb Emachah (나이 27 -_-;)와 미인대회 출신 모 여성은 항상 스킵.
