 Construction on the three-year, four-river renovation project will start Tuesday with the building of four of a planned 16 reservoirs.
Construction on the 12 others will start Thursday.
One-point-four trillion won, or one-point-two billion U.S. dollars, will go into the project.
A large-scale consortium of builders --- including Daelim, Daewoo, Hyundai, GS and SK --- is charged with the construction.
The government plans to start the second phase of the project in February, with an eye of having all basic construction projects started by March.
An official ground-breaking ceremony will take place November 17th.
